P4C After School Club
This is a fantastic opportunity for 10 – 13 year olds (Years 5 – 8) who enjoy P4C to be part of a free, weekly after-school Philosophy for Children (P4C) club.
The club engages children in ‘philosophical enquiry’, discussing such issues as right and wrong, rights and responsibilities, how we know about things and what we value as human beings. The club draws together children from all over Sheffield and surrounding areas giving them a chance to learn from each other and to get to know each other better. It is also great fun!
To really get a feel for the club here is a short film of previous members giving feedback about P4C and the After School club itself: https://www.youtube.
The weekly sessions run in person on Tuesdays, 4pm – 5.30pm with a trained facilitator at DECSY, Scotia Works, Leadmill Road, Sheffield, S1 4SE
Dates for Spring Term 2024 are as follows:
Tuesday 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th January
Tuesday 27th February, 5th, 12th, 19th March
Feedback from club members:
‘I have enjoyed having new ideas and hearing other people’s ideas.’
‘I have enjoyed arguing (slightly!) and meeting new people.’
‘P4C helps me to pay attention to what thoughts I’m having.’
