P4C After School Club

This is a fantastic opportunity for 10 – 13 year olds (Years 5 – 8), who enjoy exploring their thinking, to be part of a free, weekly after-school Philosophy for Children (P4C) club.

The club engages young people in philosophical enquiry, discussing such issues as right and wrong, rights and responsibilities, how we know about things and what we value as human beings. The club draws together people from all over Sheffield and surrounding areas, giving them a chance to think with others and think for themselves. It’s also great fun!

To get a feel for the club, here is a short film of previous members giving feedback about P4C and the After School club itself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DBHezjJdPU

The weekly sessions are run in person on Tuesdays, 4pm – 5.30pm with Kate Halliwell, a trained facilitator at DECSY, Scotia Works, Leadmill Road, Sheffield, S1 4SE.

Dates for Summer Term 2024:
Tuesday 23rd April, 30th April, 7th May, 14th May
Tuesday 11th June, 18th June , 25th June, 2nd July

Feedback from club members:‘I have enjoyed having new ideas and hearing other people’s ideas.’‘I have enjoyed arguing (slightly!) and meeting new people.’‘P4C helps me to pay attention to what thoughts I’m having.’
