Southern Artist Service

The Southern Artist for Development service uses the affective power of experienced artists / educators from countries of the ‘South’ (Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean), supported by quality resources to:

Celebrate the diversity and complexity of other cultures

Challenge the negative preconceptions about people from nations of the ‘South

Raise understanding about world development issues such as the causes and consequences of global injustice, the importance of alleviating poverty and promoting sustainable development

Encourage a greater commitment to global citizenship in the school community
