Free training for teachers on Gender Equality – only 30 places available + free book & resources
The European-wide Gender Equality Charter Mark (GECM) is a framework that can be adopted by schools to help them develop leadership, curriculum, physical environment, and the attitudes and relationships of both the students, staff and wider community in relation to gender equality issues.

Session One: Wednesday 7th July 2021 6.00-9.00 p.m. Gender equality in education
The introductory session looks at gender stereotyping, sexual harassment and gender based violence, sexist language, intersectionality, subject choices, educating boys around gender equality and how to ensure a whole-school approach
Session Two: Wednesday 14th July 2021 6.00-8.00 p.m. Gender Action
This session introduces Gender Action (the UK version of the GECM) which is an award programme which promotes and supports a whole-school approach to challenging stereotypes. (Including: Personal practice Student voice – Curriculum and learning Internal and external communications and Engagement with parents, carers and the wider school community.)

All attendees will be sent a free online book, either Gender Equality in Primary Schools: A Guide for Teachers by Helen Griffin (one of the course trainers) or Boys Don’t Try? Rethinking Masculinity in Schools by Matt Pinkett & Mark Roberts, as well as access to further resources.
