Southern Artist Service

Southern Artist

The Southern Artist for Development service uses the affective power of experienced artists / educators from countries of the 'South' (Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean), supported by quality resources to:

  • Celebrate the diversity and complexity of other cultures
  • Challenge the negative preconceptions about people from nations of the 'South'
  • Raise understanding about world development issues such as the causes and consequences of global injustice, the importance of alleviating poverty and promoting sustainable development
  • Encourage a greater commitment to global citizenship in the school community
