Evaluation

The external evaluator

Karen Pine is Professor of Developmental Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire. She has a PhD in children's learning and her research into child development is internationally recognised (over 150 academic research articles in world-leading peer reviewed journals).

Methodology employed

  • baseline and follow-up surveys with members
  • analysis of usage statistics
  • regular visits to the OWZ area
  • analysis of content provided by the children

Findings

  • Evidence of children thinking and understanding more about the wider world
  • Evidence of children’s changing intention to act on issues of global concern
