#periodpositive Workshop

This workshop will give participants an opportunity to:

• consider the impact of and explore ways to challenge menstrual taboos and
dispel myths

• focus on the benefits and supportive techniques for inclusive teaching in mixed gender groups

• discuss ways schools can help pupils to prepare for and manage menstruation, including examples of both reusable and disposable menstrual products and easy ways to introduce and explain each type

• find out about ways to support pupils on the margins such as those with special needs, English as an additional language, or who identify as trans or non-binary menstruators

• try out activities that can be used in the classroom which have been successfully trialled by teachers and pupils in Sheffield schools as part of our Gender Respect Project and through #periodpositive

This course will be led by Chella Quint, a qualified teacher, former head of PSHE, core member of the Sex Education Forum, and holder of a Master’s Degree in Education. Find out more about her work at www.periodpositive.com
