Whole school, Sapere accredited P4GC Level 1 training

Available from Helen Griffin (trained at Level 3) at DECSY. This can take place over 2 school INSET days plus one twilight session.

DECSY will also run generic P4GC Level 1 courses open to anyone at least once a year - these will be posted up here.

An Introduction to Philosophy for Children

a unique opportunity to see P4C in action with children

Date: Friday 15th June 2007 9.30am-4pm

Venue: Bannerdale Centre, Sheffield (am), Dobcroft Junior School (pm)

Fee: £60 including lunch, refreshments and full set of course notes

This course is a repeat of the highly successful day in June 2006 and will be a chance for participants to:

- Learn about the aims and process of philosophical enquiry

- Consider the benefits of P4C for teaching & learning

- Experience a philosophical enquiry

- Observe KS2 children participating in an enquiry in school

P4C Sapere accredited Level 1 course

with a particular focus on the Global Dimension of the Curriculum

A two and a half day non-residential practical workshop

Date: Thursday 8th November 2007, 4.30-6.30pm, Friday 9th November and Saturday 10th November 9.30am - 4.30pm

Venue: Scotia Works, Leadmill Road, Sheffield S1 4SE

Cost: £160 (subsidised) including lunches, refreshments, Sapere Level 1 Handbook, membership and certificate

P4C Regional Network

If you have experience of P4C training and are using P4C in your school you can meet other teachers and share ideas through the Sapere Regional Network.
